A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser. Some cookies are needed for a site to work and stay secure. Others, like analytics cookies, simply help the site owner understand how the site is used. This page lists the cookies our site sets, why, and how you can control them.
Analytics (Google Analytics 4). We use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-P37C97FTHJ) to count visits and see which pages are useful. It sets two cookies: _ga, which distinguishes one visitor from another, and _ga_P37C97FTHJ, which keeps session state. Both last up to 2 years. We see aggregated statistics only (pages visited, approximate country, device type). We do not use Google advertising features, and we never sell this data. Analytics only runs if you accept cookies in the banner shown on your first visit. If you decline, Google Analytics does not load and these cookies are not set.
Security (Cloudflare). Our site is delivered through Cloudflare, which may set a short-lived security cookie (for example __cf_bm, lasting about 30 minutes) to tell real visitors from bots. This cookie is strictly necessary for security and cannot be switched off on our side.
What we do not use. No advertising cookies, no social media trackers, and no cross-site behavioural tracking of any kind.
Some things you can do from this site run on other companies' pages, under their own cookie and privacy policies:
You can block or delete cookies at any time in your browser settings; this site will keep working. You can also change the choice you made in our banner at any time, using the Cookie Settings link in the footer of any page. To opt out of Google Analytics across all sites, Google offers a free browser add-on. If you have questions about cookies or privacy, email us at hello@directbook.uk. See also our Privacy Policy.
